Good, fast or cheap: pick two
Fast, good, cheap, pick two. The sign hung in print shops and repair shops long before software people started quoting it. Project management calls the same idea the iron triangle, with scope, time and cost at the corners.
Good and fast is expensive. Good and cheap is slow. Fast and cheap is poor work. The middle is empty.
